In my opinion, pacing in transmedia lies in the following four dimensions:

• story
  • plotting (inc. exposition vs development)
  • mood & tension
  • threat
  • impact of decision
• ability to move forward
  • number of choices available
  • ease of decision making/problem solving
  • checkpoints/gates
• required reaction speed
  • rate of content delivery
  • speed of response demanded by Author (inc. “ticking clock” & threat)
• the platform
  • length of content (e.g. time to read or watch or play)
  • ease of interaction
