The PlayStation Network is officially the first console marketplace to offer original content from premium cable network HBO. Starting today, PlayStation 3 and PSP owners will be able to purchase and download seasons and individual episodes via the PlayStation Store.

Available immediately are seasons one and two of "True Blood," season one of "Eastbound and Down," one through three of "Big Love," and one and two of "Entourage."

Gamers will also get access to a generous backlog of HBO programming including some of the seasons from shows like "The Sopranos," "Sex and the City," "The Wire," "Rome," "Da Ali G Show," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "Flight of the Conchords."

With premium cable network content ready for download, customers should be prepared to pay premium PlayStation Network prices; a single episode will cost PS3 and PSP owners $3.
